About Castle Donington's Museum

Castle Donington Museum occupies the ground floor of the Stone House.
A charming 17th Century listed building which was originally used as a farm.
The Museum is situated in the centre of the village, which has many interesting buildings and shops.
The Museum has a small shop with local interest books, hand turned woodware and good quality old fashioned toys.
The Museum has a delightful garden with an outdoor exhibition of Artefacts.
The conversion of the Stone House, barn and garden for use as a Museum began in the spring of 1999. There are two main display rooms, and a reception area with general information on the surrounding district.
An interactive computer facility provides visitors with a series of visual displays showing historical aspects of the area. Our database will provide information on such aspects as genealogy, building history, archeology, published and documentary sources.
